Wild Rice Hotdish

Winter may be cold, but it’s the perfect time to enjoy all your favorite traditional dishes that are served toasty warm, and if you’re from the Midwest then you know we mean hotdishes. Hearty, delicious, and flavorful, this Wild Rice Hotdish is just what you need to warm your spirits and fill your stomach.

Ingredients

• 1 ½ lb. veal, cubed
• 1 lb. hamburger
• 1 can chicken rice soup
• 1 can cream of mushroom soup
• 1 soup can of water
• 1 can mushrooms and juice
• ½ c. wild rice (unprepared)
• 1 c. celery, chopped
• 1 tbsp. soy sauce
• 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Directions

1. Prepare Wild Rice according to basic preparation
2. Drain Wild Rice
3. Together, brown meat with onion
4. Combine remaining ingredients
5. Season to taste
6. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 ½ hours.
7. Sprinkle shredded cheese on during the last 15 minutes of baking, if desired.
